Professional Floor Care That Protects Your Investment

Floors take more abuse than any other surface in a building. Foot traffic, winter salt and sand, rolling carts and daily spills wear down the protective finish until the floor looks dull, yellowed and dirty, even right after it has been mopped. At Addy’s Building Maintenance Services, floor stripping and waxing is our specialty. We remove the old, worn finish down to the bare floor, deep clean the surface and lay down fresh coats of quality floor finish that bring back the shine and protect the floor for months.

Our floor work is led by Luis, our floor specialist, who has maintained floors for well-known names such as Stop & Shop, J.P. Morgan Chase and Target. Every client gets that same commercial standard, whether it is a small office lobby in Huntington or the hallways of an apartment building in Hempstead.

What We Do

Our Floor Stripping & Waxing Services

From a full strip and refinish to regular burnishing between visits, we offer every service needed to keep commercial and residential floors clean, glossy and protected.

Floor Stripping

We apply a professional stripping solution and work it with a floor machine to remove old wax, built-up dirt and yellowed finish, leaving a clean bare floor ready for new protection.

Floor Waxing & Refinishing

Several thin coats of commercial-grade floor finish are applied evenly and allowed to cure, creating a hard, glossy layer that resists scuffs, stains and daily wear.

Buffing & Burnishing

High-speed burnishing between full strips restores the gloss and extends the life of the finish, keeping entrances and high-traffic areas looking freshly waxed.

Scrub & Recoat

When the finish is worn but not ruined, we deep scrub the top layer and add fresh coats. It is a faster, lower-cost option than a full strip and refinish.

Tile & Grout Cleaning

Ceramic, porcelain and vinyl tile is machine scrubbed and the grout lines are cleaned to remove the grime and discoloration that regular mopping leaves behind.

Hardwood & Carpet Care

Our floor specialist works on hardwood, tile and carpet, so one team can look after every type of floor in your home, office or building.

Who We Serve

Floor Care for Offices, Apartments and Commercial Properties

Most of the floors we strip and wax are vinyl composition tile (VCT), linoleum and sealed surfaces in commercial spaces, the kind of floor that needs a protective finish to look good and last. Clean, shiny floors are one of the first things tenants, customers and buyers notice, and a regular maintenance plan saves money by extending the life of the floor itself.

Our Process

How Our Floor Stripping and Waxing Process Works

01

Inspect & Prepare

We check the floor type and condition, move furniture out of the way and protect walls, baseboards and doorways.
02

Strip the Old Finish

Stripper is applied and worked with a floor machine. The slurry is picked up and the floor is rinsed until it is completely clean.
03

Apply Fresh Finish

Once the floor is fully dry, we apply several thin, even coats of floor finish and let each coat dry before the next.
04

Buff & Final Walkthrough

The floor is buffed to a high shine, furniture goes back in place and we walk the finished job with you.

Why Long Island Businesses Trust Us With Their Floors

Floor stripping and waxing is skilled work. Use the wrong stripper or skip the rinse, and the new finish peels, clouds or turns yellow within weeks. Our team takes the time to do each step properly, so the shine lasts and your floor stays protected between visits.

FAQ

Floor Stripping & Waxing FAQs

The price depends on the size of the area, the type of floor, how much old finish has built up and how many coats of new finish you need. Because every floor is different, we quote after seeing the space or photos of it. Call us at 631-482-7204 or use the form below to get pricing and availability.

Most commercial floors need a full strip and wax once or twice a year, with buffing, burnishing or a scrub and recoat in between. Entrances, hallways and checkout areas with heavy foot traffic may need attention more often, while quiet offices can go longer. We will recommend a schedule based on your traffic and budget.

Stripping and waxing removes all of the old finish down to the bare floor and rebuilds it with new coats. A scrub and recoat only removes the dirty top layer and adds fresh coats on top. A recoat is quicker and costs less, but it only works when the base layers are still in good condition.

Most offices, hallways and apartment common areas can be stripped and waxed in a single visit. The floor can take light foot traffic once the final coat has dried, and we will let you know on the day when it is safe to walk on and when furniture can go back.
